Independent Ballet Wales return to Strode with the passionate and dramatic story of Giselle, a beautiful peasant girl who falls hopelessly in love with a mysterious stranger who turns out to be a Prince in disguise. But he is already betrothed to a princess and when Giselle hears that he is not free to marry her she dies of a broken heart. Prince Albrecht, full of remorse, visits the grave of Giselle where he attracts the attentions of the malicious phantoms of girls who have been wronged on their wedding day. But Giselle, forgiving and still loving Albrecht, protects him, the phantoms disappear and Giselle returns to her grave to rest in peace for eternity.
