In a remote North African village, things haven’t changed in decades. While the men sit around playing cards, the women have to carry every drop of water from a precariously located well far above the village. It is incomer Leila, the teacher’s wife, who suggests that the women should withdraw their marital favours to shake the menfolk up and get them to build a water pipe.
